Our History
FOunded – 1948
Winton Auction & Realty was founded in 1948 by Bob Winton. Our office has been a part of the historic Winchester, TN town square for over 75 years.
1966 – waterfront Winchester
Tims Ford Dam, built by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), began construction in 1966 on the Elk River in central Tennessee. Completed in 1970, Tims Ford Lake created numerous waterfront residential areas in Winchester.
1983-2021
Bill “Colonel” Anderton (often referred to as “Colonel” — a traditional title for auctioneers) worked for Winton Auction from around 1971, becoming the second owner in 1983. Under Anderton, described as ‘a cornerstone in the community,’ continued to grow the business and ran the company until 2021.
2021-present
Thomas Ore purchased Winton Auction & Realty in 2021. Since then, the company has continued to serve the community and the seasoned team of auctioneers and real estate agents has grown tremendously.
